16 DECEMBER 2009 - We took the children to Zandvlei, Muizenberg for a picnic, which they thoroughly enjoyed. Through out the day, they enjoyed snacks and burgers, juice, fruit and also enjoyed playing a couple of games. Some of these children have never been to a picnic spot or even the beach. Before we left, the children were all presented with a Christmas gift.
We, the ministry, would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Garth, Manager of Mike's Kitchen and staff, N1 City Branch, Cape Town for hosting 20 of our children, This outing to a restaurant was the first for many of the children who come from a very poor and underprivileged background. They enjoyed a salad starter, some burgers and chips, and the others opted for the buffet that was served, and ended off with ice cream. There was also a facility where they could enjoy some games and a trampoline.
On the Sabbath, 20 November 2010, we fed about 60 children from one of the poor communities on our doorstep. We fed them from the hatch of our container which we were blessed with. We have the park right opposite our house, which makes it very convenient for the children, once food was dished-up, they could just go to the park and sit down. They further enjoyed playing a few games and we also gave each a packet of chips and juice to enjoy. We alway thank GOD for providing the funds for us to be able to do HIS work.
